Anyone who knows me will undoubtedly know that i am a Harry Potter geek. And as a native Glaswegian born and raised, it overjoyed me to learn that Glasgow was going to have it's very own Harry Potter shop,Yes, please!
I wasn’t always a huge fan believe it or not; I caught onto the series later than some, but earlier than many. When the book series first gained popularity I shunned the trend and refused to join the masses in the Harry Potter craze. Then, my best friend at the time handed me book one with pointed instructions to “shut my face and just read the book.”
Fast forward many years, and I happened to “accidentally” stumble upon — just by chance, of course — a Waterstones release party for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The series had hooked me, and I was giddy with anticipation as I waited hours in line behind a doe-faced eight-year-old Hermione look-alike. Then, I read the book in one sitting (a very, very long sitting).
Now you’re thinking, “OK, thanks for the backstory, but what about The Root of Magic?” The backstory serves as a point of view to let you know that I am a hardcore fan. I’ve reread the books many times, I went to early release parties, and I cried along with the main characters as the events of their lives unfolded. And as such, if you’re a fan too, know that I went to The Root of Magic hoping and wishing for a Diagon Alley-esque experience. The shop delivers with sweets to rival Honeydukes, Harry Potter references, and a carefully executed layout designed to fulfill your deepest wizarding wants.

Once inside you are welcomed by shelf's packed with confectionery to rival Honeydukes and all the Harry Potter merchandise you can get your hands on.

Now for my favourite part of the shop, bath products! For all you inner witches out there Clause 73 offers amongst the soaps and bath salts a bewitching collection of cauldron bath-bombs and before you ask yes they come in all the house colours!

For any Harry Potter obsessed fan like myself i would definitely recommend taking a trip down to Clause 73 and nabbing yourself some magical treats. I'm always curious to know what Harry Potter experiences i havent been to yet, if anyone has any suggestions let me know !
